Awakening’ (sudden illumination like a flash of light) is to see your own pure, original nature which is free of worldly illusions and delusions.
What is awakening?
The qualities of awakening are peace, luminosity and compassion. These are the true nature of mind.
In Buddhism, 'awakening' is a profound experience that illuminates an individual's consciousness. It is symbolised by 'Buddha nature,' a pure, original state free of worldly distractions, enabling one to view the world with a fresh perspective.
Awakened awareness is extraordinary. Its clarity allows us to see our lives and inner being with understanding. It helps us make conscious choices for personal growth and self-realisation, unlocking our true potential and bringing joy, peace, and contentment.
Awakening (enlightenment/realisation) is a deep understanding of self and world, described as sudden illumination, a flash of light, or clarity to see beyond illusions and delusions.
How do I attain this state of awakening?
The brilliance of awakened awareness is the natural quality of the mind. How do I attain this state of awakening? Awareness is the key.
Awareness is the key to unlocking our individual potential for growth and personal empowerment. To attain this state of awakening requires a journey of introspection & self-discovery, involving reflection on thoughts, feelings & beliefs. And meditation & mindfulness to peel away layers of conditioning and access the pure essence of being.
An aware mind, is a mind at peace.
Awakening may seem distant
Awakening may seem distant because many concepts can hide and block its clarity. A mirror without dust on its surface will not have its own clarity. Don't get stuck on ideas! Let understanding go through them!
When ideas become see-through, nothing can ever hide awareness again. If a mirror doesn't let dust stick on, no dust can hide its clarity.
Awakening is a transformative experience
Awakening is a transformative experience. It reconnects us with our true nature and brings peace and liberation. Awakening requires courage, dedication and an openness to the unknown. But promises to be rewarding and life-changing.
Awake is your true nature
As everything is connected and arises together, those who allow their natural qualities to shine through are the Buddhas. Those who are clouded by confusion and warp it are not yet awake. In its core, they are the same – empty, aware and able to respond.
Empty of essence, and yet vibrant with the qualities of awakening. When we are empty and yet filled with the power of being awake we are back to our true nature.
